This post will detail steps on how to stop receiving unwanted desktop push notifications. First, here are 2 options that should apply to most browsers.
Option 1:
- Navigate to the website you'd like to stop receiving notifications from
- Click the lock icon located next to the URL address bar
- Change the notification permission from "Allow" to "Block"
Option 2:
- Find the settings or preferences for your devices' browser
- Within "Notification Settings," find the website you'd like to unsubscribe from and change the permission from "Allow" to "Block"

Google Chrome
- Open Chrome
- At the top right, click the three dots for Settings
- Under "Privacy and Security" click "Site Settings"
- Then select "Notifications" and find the website you wish to stop receiving notifications from
- Click on the three dots and select "Block"
Firefox
- At the top right, click the menu button and select "Options"
- Click on "Privacy and Security" on the left panel and scroll down to "Permissions"
- Click on the "Settings" button next to "Notifications"
- Find the website you wish to stop receiving notifications from and update the status to "Block"
Microsoft Edge
- At the top right, click "More"
- Then select "Advanced Settings" from the left panel
- Select "Manage Permissions" under "Website Permission"
- Find the website you wish to stop receiving notifications from and X it out
Opera
- On the left panel, click on the gear icon for "Settings"
- Select "Advanced" and then click on "Privacy and Security"
- Click on "Site Settings"
- Scroll down and select "Notifications"
- Find the website you wish to stop receiving notifications from and select either "Block" or "Remove"
Safari
- At the top of your computer screen select Safari and select "Preferences" or press ⌘ +
- Select "Websites" and then "Notifications"
- Find the website you wish to stop receiving notifications from and select "Deny"
