This post will detail steps on how to stop receiving unwanted desktop push notifications. First, here are 2 options that should apply to most browsers.

Option 1:

  1. Navigate to the website you'd like to stop receiving notifications from

  2. Click the lock icon located next to the URL address bar

  3. Change the notification permission from "Allow" to "Block"

Option 2:

  1. Find the settings or preferences for your devices' browser

  2. Within "Notification Settings," find the website you'd like to unsubscribe from and change the permission from "Allow" to "Block"

Google Chrome

  1. Open Chrome

  2. At the top right, click the three dots for Settings

  3. Under "Privacy and Security" click "Site Settings"

  4. Then select "Notifications" and find the website you wish to stop receiving notifications from

  5. Click on the three dots and select "Block"

Firefox

  1. At the top right, click the menu button and select "Options"

  2. Click on "Privacy and Security" on the left panel and scroll down to "Permissions"

  3. Click on the "Settings" button next to "Notifications"

  4. Find the website you wish to stop receiving notifications from and update the status to "Block"

Microsoft Edge

  1. At the top right, click "More"

  2. Then select "Advanced Settings" from the left panel

  3. Select "Manage Permissions" under "Website Permission"

  4. Find the website you wish to stop receiving notifications from and X it out

Brave

  1. At the top right, click on the 3 bars under the “x”

  2. On the drop down menu, click on “Settings”

  3. On the left hand side menu, select “Privacy and Security”

  4. In the center menu, select “Site and Shield Settings”

  5. In the center menu, scroll down under “Permissions” and click on “Notifications”

  6. Under “Customized Behaviors” in the center click on “add” next to “Not Allowed to Send Notifications”

  7. Add blazetv.com and theblaze.com to this list.

Safari

  1. At the top of your computer screen select Safari and select "Preferences" or press ⌘ +

  2. Select "Websites" and then "Notifications"

  3. Find the website you wish to stop receiving notifications from and select "Deny"

Opera

  1. On the left panel, click on the gear icon for "Settings"

  2. Select "Advanced" and then click on "Privacy and Security"

  3. Click on "Site Settings"

  4. Scroll down and select "Notifications"

  5. Find the website you wish to stop receiving notifications from and select either "Block" or "Remove"

Duck Duck Go

  1. Click on the 3 dots at the top right corner

  2. Click on “Settings”

  3. Scroll down until you get to “Permissions” and click on it

  4. Click on “Notifications”

  5. Toggle it off
